To begin setting up your AirTag, bring the products close to each other. Your iPhone will do most of the work for you by recognizing your Apple AirTag. To complete the setup follow these quick steps :
- A screen will pop up with a "connect" button.
- To finish setup, tap "connect." It's that easy.
However, Apple's one-tap setup comes with a few additional steps to register, name, and attach your Apple AirTag.
You will be asked to name your AirTag and may need to sign in to your Apple ID for verification purposes and to register your AirTag to your Apple ID. To name your AirTag, after tapping connect, select from one of the following options:
- Custom Name
After naming, you can decide to assign an emoji to your AirTag!
Attach your AirTag loop of choice to your Apple AirTag and hang it from your keys, luggage, purse, bike, or another personal item. Once your AirTag is connected, you continue on living your life, and when you can't find one of your personal items, use your AirTag with Find My to find it!
Easy right? Maybe the setup process isn't necessarily one-tap, but three taps to connect, name, and assign an emoji is about as easy as it gets.
Curious about how to change your AirTag battery when the time comes? Don't worry. It's super easy too. Check our guide, How to Change Your Apple AirTag Battery, so you're prepared when that time does come.
