According to the APA website, the recommended font for an APA-style paper or article is Times New Roman, 12 point font. However, any standard serif font sized 8-14 points will suffice.

For text that accompanies a table/image/graph, however, you should use a small sans serif font that doesn't distract from the images themselves.
