How to view network traffic in OS X and macOS Sierra

Open Terminal

Navigate to Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

Run the netopp command

Enter the following command and press enter:

nettop

The nettop program supports a number of commands (usually executed by pressing a single button on your keyboard). Check them out!
