The Touch Bar is a neat addition to the MacBook Pro. For me, however, it's kind of annoying and I just want my normal Control Strip back rather than application-specific options. After all, I'm perfectly happy using keyboard shortcuts.

This short guide will show you how to disable the Mac touchbar and restore it to its previous non-touch behavior.

Here's everything you'll need to complete this guide:

MacBook Pro×1
MacOS System Preferences Pane

Navigate to  > System Preferences.

MacOS Keyboard Settings

Select the Keyboard item.

Disable MacBook Pro Touch Bar

In the Touch Bar Shows dropdown, select the Expanded Control Strip option.

Finally, close System Preferences. You're all done!
