An easy way to keep your wireless network secure is to change the password. Routinely updating your WiFi password adds an extra layer of security that's easy to maintain from your browser window.

All you need is a computer with access to the CenturyLink router. Hardwire to the network in case there are any issues while making the WiFi changes.

Your WiFi password can be changed on the web portal. Access the web portal by logging into your CenturyLink router. You'll need to find your network security key (WiFi password), if you don't already have it.

Once you've logged into the Century Link router, navigate to the following location:

  • Go to Wireless Setup
  • Choose 2.4 GHz
  • Click Wireless Security

On this screen, you can set a new network name (SSID) or WiFi password (passphrase/network key).

Once you've set new WiFi information, save the changes and test the new wireless connection.
