How to disable the "popping" volume control sound on your Mac

If the "popping" sound when you adjust the volume on your Mac annoys you, this guide will show you how to disable it! This will disable the feedback sound when you adjust your Mac's volume control up or down.

Open Sound System Preferences

Navigate to System Preferences > Sound.

Navigate to Sound Effects

Click on the Sound Effects tab to navigate to Sound Effect Preferences.

Disable volume control feedback sound

Uncheck the box labeled Play feedback when volume is changed. Then, close System Preferences and enjoy the silence!
