How to take a screenshot on Mac OS X

One of my favorite built in features in Mac OS X is the ability to take useful screen shots.

1

cmd + shift + 3

2

cmd + ctrl + shift + 3

3

cmd + shift + 4
After you hit this key combination your mouse pointer will turn into crosshairs. You can now click and drag over the portion of the screen you want to capture.

4

cmd + ctrl + shift + 4
As with the previous version, you will see crosshairs after hitting this combination. You will need to click in drag in order to take the screen shot.

5

cmd + shift + 4
As with the previous step, you will see crosshairs after hitting this key combination. However you'll need to move the crosshairs to the window you want to capture and then hit "space bar". Your cursor will now be a camera, and to take the screenshot just click your mouse or trackpad.
