Most routers use a default WiFi network name (SSID) that is hard to identify and remember. Changing the WiFi name allows you to personalize your network and make it easier for friends and family to connect. This guide will show you how to change your WiFi network name on your Comcast router.

1

Follow this guide to learn how to log into your Comcast router.

In short, visit 10.0.0.1. And as long as you haven't changed the credentials, you can use the username admin and the password password to log in.

2

Go to Gateway > Connection > WiFi and then press EDIT next to your wireless network.

3

Now you can edit the network name (SSID) and we recommend changing the password as well. When you're satisfied, click SAVE SETTINGS.

Remember, that when you change the network name you'll no longer be connected. You'll have to log in again with your new network settings.
