How To Fix Lost Ark Security Violation Error

Lost Ark has become an overnight success. While some gamers might have been awaiting its release, many had no idea it was even coming out. In fact, the only way I even heard of it was because so many of my gaming friends were playing it!

The latest MMO to join the gaming circuit, Lost Ark is a mix between Diablo and New World. Personally, I consider Lost Ark to be the game that Elder Scrolls Online wanted to be.

Regardless of how you view the game, there are some bugs that players (myself included) have suffered from. Perhaps the most annoying one is what we’re here to solve today!

Lost Ark utilizes Easy Anti-Cheat, a program used in many popular games. It’s an anti–cheat service that counters hacking and cheating in multiplayer PC games. However, it does have its faults.

If you’re one of the many receiving the “Game Security Violation” error, read on to figure out some ways to work around this error.

Disclaimer: This guide will only help if you’re not using any hacks or cheats for Lost Ark. This is meant for those who suffer from the strange confliction between RGB programs and the game’s anti-cheat program.

In order to close out the programs that could be conflicting with Easy Anti-Cheat, we need to open task manager.

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open the task manager.

Alternatively, you can right click the Windows icon.

Normally, the error violation will show you what program or software is conflicting with Easy Anti-Cheat. In the case of my error shown above, it was the LightingService.exe.

Software known to conflict with Lost Ark are:

LightingService.exe - This is the lighting control system of your PC.
RGB Software - iCue and ASUS AURA are some examples.
Antivirus or Firewall - You can either temporarily disable them or add an exception in your antivirus software’s dashboard.
