How To Install Add-Ons in Google Sheets

Google Sheets makes it easy to create data spreadsheets that can be used by a team of collaborators. It also can be connected easily with other Google Workspace tools to convert data into presentations. You can take your data even further with the Google Workspace Marketplace that provides free or paid add-ons to expand what you can do in Google Sheets! This guide will show you how to use the Google Workspace Marketplace and install an add-on to Google Sheets.

Click the Add-ons drop-down menu, as shown in the image above. Click Get add-ons from the drop-down list. A new window will appear on the page with the Google Workspace Marketplace.

Search with keywords for the add-on you need. Once you’ve found an add-on, move onto the next step.

When ready, hit the Install button and click continue on the pop-up that appears.

Make sure to choose the Google account that is associated with the spreadsheet you’re working on.

This window will explain and list all the permissions and access that you’re giving the add-on. When you’re comfortable and ready, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Allow. You should now see a confirmation message similar to “Lucidchart Diagrams has been installed!”

Return to Google Sheets and, if needed, refresh the page, so you see the add-on listed in the add-on menu as shown in the image above. This menu will show all add-ons you have installed!

You’re now ready to begin creating and customizing your Google Sheets spreadsheet!
