Before you power up your console, connect your controller to your system using the micro USB cord.

You'll know your controller is plugged in correctly when the Light Bar is blue - indicating that it has a connection.

Once your controller is connected, turn on your console by pressing and holding the center PlayStation button until the Light Bar starts to flash.

When the Light Bar turns blue, you'll know your DUALSHOCK is paired to your PS4. If your controller is charged, you can now unplug it and use it via Bluetooth. Easy, right?

What the Light Bar colors mean

The color of your Light Bar will adjust according to how many controllers, or players, are connected to your account. You can only have four players on your account.
