Long gone are the days of broadcast TV. Most of us consume our media by streaming content online. After the success of platforms like Netflix and Hulu, Disney developed a streaming service of its own.

In this guide, we'll go over all of the different ways you can get free or discounted access to the new Disney+ streaming platform. Unfortunately, there's no magic wand we can wave to give everyone Disney+ for free. But there are a few options out there to provide free trials, extended trials, and discounts. If you're a Verizon or US Mobile customer, you may qualify for a full free year! Keep reading to find out for sure.

What is Disney+?

Disney+ is a subscription-based streaming service. It provides access to original Disney movies and TV shows as well as other Disney owned assets like Marvel and National Geographic.

Disney+ is currently offering a 7-day free trial to all of its new customers. You will need to register for a Disney+ account on the official website. Click Start Free Trial on the main page.

Most Verizon customers are eligible for free Disney+. To qualify, you must have at least one of the following Verizon services:

  • Verizon Wireless Unlimited (4G LTE)
  • Verizon Wireless Unlimited (5G)
  • Verizon Fios Home Internet
  • Verizon 5G Home Internet

If you aren't yet a Verizon or Verizon Wireless customer, consider switching—the service might be cheaper for you or your family and you'll get Disney+ for free.

Eligible US Mobile customers qualify for free Disney+. Various unlimited plans offer different "perk" levels. More perks = more free services. One of the free services offered is the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN bundle. You need 3 unlimited lines to qualify for this perk.

Certain LG OLED TVs currently come with an entire year of Disney+ for free. LG NanoCell TVs come with 6 months of free Disney+.

After purchasing a qualifying TV, submit a claim to LG with a copy of the receipt. This has to be submitted before 5/9/2020. Your free subscription will be provided within 28 days.

If you activate a new Google Chromebook between now and 1/31/2020, you can receive 3 months of Disney+ for free. If you recently purchased a Chromebook and want to redeem the offer, visit this Disney+ promo page and click Redeem offer.

This option isn't quite free, but it's definitely a bargain. You can purchase a bundled package that includes access to Hulu, ESPN, and Disney+ content for only $12 a month. If you already have a Hulu subscription and have considered subscribing to Disney+, this is definitely worth a look.

In a recent memo to Disney theme park cast members, the company announced it would offer free Disney+ to its employees. Cast members can choose between a main entrance park pass or access to the Disney+ service.
