How to Cancel Roku Subscriptions

It's as easy as four clicks!
1 minute

When I first got my Roku, I went a bit overboard on the subscriptions. It was in the middle of a pandemic, and other than work there wasn't a ton to do other than watch movies, read, write, and hang out with my cats. However, when I went to go cancel some of the many subscriptions I had, I found the cancellation method for Roku subscriptions wasn't as intuitive as it could be.

Of course, I figured it out, but it could certainly be an easier, more fluid process for Roku users. Since it took me a couple of minutes of button mashing to figure out the process, I wanted to share the steps, knowing there must be others out there who also went a little subscription crazy.

In this guide, I show you how to cancel your Roku subscriptions in under a minute. Trust me, it's super easy, even if it could be a little more intuitive. Let's get to it!

Go to the Home Page

First, go to the home page on your Roku. This is where all your channels are. Once at your home page, move on to the next step.

Navigate to the Channel

Use the up and down arrows on your remote to navigate to the channel you are wanting to cancel a subscription for. Once you have found the channel and navigated to it, move to the next step.

In my case, the channel I need to navigate to is STARZ.

Press the Asterisk

Notice the channel is highlighted after navigating to it? Now press the asterisk "*" so that the pop-up for managing the current subscription can come up like pictured.

Click "Manage Subscription"

Now, click manage subscription, so that we can get the cancellation option.

Click "Cancel Subscription"

Select "cancel subscription."

Confirm Cancellation

Continue with the cancellation and confirm the cancellation by clicking "yes, cancel subscription," and you are good to go!

Now, you can work through the rest of the Roku subscriptions you probably shouldn't have started. It happens to the best of us!
