Give Your Uuni Pizza Peel a Handle For Maximum Pizza Slinging Action

The pizza peel that comes with the Uuni is a workable first pizza peel, but after a few pizzas, I really wanted a handle. I decided to add a handle using a simple 1" dowel rod. Here's how I did it!

Flat head machine screws ×2 3/8" x 1"
Machine screw nuts ×2 3/8"
Dowel ×1 1"

1" screws are just long enough to go through the peel and dowel without protruding too far on the other side.

mark the dowel

Measure over about 1/4" and make a straight mark that runs across the end of the dowel. Extend the mark 3" down the length of the dowel on both sides. That line will keep us on track while cutting.

cut the dowel

A vise is very helpful at this step although you could get away with a clamp.

marking the holes

This is more or less the center of the pizza peel, how convenient!

drilled holes in dowel

Using a 3/8" drill bit, drill all the way through the dowel being careful to drill slowly and as straight as possible.

screwing through dowel

Add the washers and tighten the nuts.
