Disable the start screen and reduce distraction.

In this short guide, I'll show you how to disable the start, or welcome screen, in Adobe Photoshop CC. This screen is also known as the Home Screen and used to be called the Smart Workspace.

This window pops up by default every time you open Photoshop with no documents. It's super distracting to me and I've been using Photoshop long enough to not need it.

Let's get rid of it!

In Photoshop, navigate to Photoshop CC > Preferences > General.

Adobe Photoshop General Preferences

Check the Disable the Home Screen checkbox. Click OK to apply the change.

That's it! When you restart Photoshop, the start screen will be gone.

Let’s outline this process.

Photoshop can be used to outline text and objects. All you need is Photoshop and something to outline. I'm using Photoshop 2020 for this guide, but any version of Photoshop can be used to outline text.
