How to Delete Apps on Any Android Device

If you need to remove an app from your Android device, you're in luck. The process is super easy, and you have several different ways of going about it.

Deleting apps is a great way to clear up space on your phone. Some apps can cause frequent notifications or slow down your device, removing them can make a huge difference in performance (as can updating them).

Apps can be deleted through the Application manager.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Choose Apps & notifications.
  3. Select the app you want to remove.
  4. Click Uninstall.

Some apps can be removed from the home screen. This won’t uninstall the application, but it will delete it from your main home screen.

  1. Tap and hold the app you want to remove.
  2. Drag it up to Remove at the top of the screen.

  1. Open your app tray to see the list of installed apps.
  2. Tap and hold the app you want to remove.
  3. Select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  4. If you don't see a drop-down menu, drag it up to Uninstall at the top of the screen.

  1. Open the Google Play store.
  2. Under the main menu, choose My apps & games.

Some apps can't be uninstalled, but they can be disabled.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Choose Apps & notifications.
  3. Select the app you want to disable.
  4. Choose Disable.
