Adjusting Triangle in InDesign

Now that you've drawn a triangle, you'll likely need to adjust it.

  • Select the direct selection tool from the left toolbar.

  • Using it, select only the anchor point you want to move. (Otherwise, you'll move the whole triangle.)
  • Drag the anchor point to adjust its placement.
  • Repeat for each anchor point to adjust as needed.
Perfect Triangle in InDesign

A perfect triangle is one in which each side of the triangle has the same length and each corner makes a 60-degree angle.

There's an easy way to make a perfect triangle in InDesign. Once you've drawn the triangle (see Step 1), then you can adjust it to a perfect triangle.

  • Select the direct selection tool from the left toolbar.

  • Using it, select only the anchor point you want to move. (Otherwise, you'll move the whole triangle.)
  • Drag the anchor point until you see the green lines appear both horizontally and vertically. (See step image above.)
Right Triangle in InDesign

A "right triangle" is one that has angles at 90, 60, and 30 degrees.

Once you have your triangle drawn, you can easily adjust it to make it a right triangle.

  • Select the direct selection tool from the left toolbar.

  • Drag the anchor point until you see the green lines run perpendicular to one another, without crossing.
