Command Prompt IP Address

A sure way to find your IP address is to use Command Prompt.

  1. Launch Command Prompt. Open the Start Menu and search for cmd. Click the Command Prompt application from the search list.
  2. Type in ipconfig and press enter.
  3. You can find your IP address next to the line titled IPv4.
Wi-Fi IP Address

Wi-Fi users can use the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray to find their IP address.

  1. Click the wireless icon in the taskbar.
  2. Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list.
  3. Click Properties and look for the Properties section in the window that opens.
  4. Your IP address will be listed next to IPv4.
Ethernet Icon IP Address

Hard-wired users can find their IP address using the network icon in the taskbar system tray.

  1. Click the Ethernet icon.
  2. Select your network from the list.
  3. Click on your network name again at the top of the window that opens.
  4. Scroll down to the Properties section.
  5. Your IP address will be listed next to IPv4.
