The Caves & Cliffs Part 2 update brought about a lot of new updates and changes to Minecraft. So many that we had to make an overview guide of what you need to know about the 1.18 update!

To help our fellow Minecraft players, here’s a handy guide on the new ore distribution for the 1.18 update!

This chart may look scary, but we’ll explain it briefly.

Each colored shape represents a type of ore. The vertical length of an ore shows where in the world it can spawn (aka the level height). The horizontal width represents how much of that ore can spawn, depending on the height. So the widest part of an ore’s shape means the more frequently it will spawn!

Can be used as smelting fuel, to make torches, and, if placed under note blocks, can produce a "bass drum" sound.
